COSMIC Series Race the Divide
Feb 5th, 2010 | By Aubrey Bradshaw - Colorado Outing | Category: Colorado Ski Resort EventsRace the Divide is part of the COSMIC (Colorado Ski Mountaineering Cup) Series presented by The United States Ski Mountaineering Association and Salida Mountain Sports. Race registration and additional information will be available at the shop. Participants must carry a beacon/shovel/probe and wear a helmet (bike ok) during the event. The Recreation course is two climbs and descents, approximately 2,000 feet. The Race/Heavy Metal/Vet course is four climbs and 3,500 feet. COSMIC doesn’t care that you telemark, or what kind of skis you have. If you don’t have light skis, or a certain binding – no problem, you’re in the Heavy Metal category and the prizes are good. Race whatever you want in the Race or Rec category, but if your equipment is on the heavy side, Heavy Metal is your category.
