Grand Lake Olympic Style

Grand Lake is transforming itself into an Olympic Village this year. If you can’t get to the actual Olympic Games in Vancouver, but you still want the excitement of all that the Winter Games offer, this may be the answer! From the opening ceremonies on January 29 through the closing ceremonies on February 14, 2010 you can be a part of the excitement in Grand Lake, Colorado. The Olympics themed Winter Carnival will include many fun and unique events including:

Tea Pot Curling
Human Bowling
Bed Sled Luge
Flag Football
Snowman contest

These are just a few of the scheduled events. The events aren’t quite as demanding as the ones Olympic athletes prepare for, but it promises to be a lot of fun and the public is invited to join the party! Local restaurants will be creating special ethnic dishes to honor the International theme and there will be special sales throughout the town.
