Kids are Free during Winter Break at the Denver Art Museum

Schools out for winter break so join the Denver Art Museum December 19th though January 3rd, 2009 as they track down all the western creatures that live in the museum!
Find cows with their tongues out in the Charles Russell exhibit, try the museum’s Coastal Critters Backpack or their Fox Games Art Tube, make animal inspired artwork and more! The popular DAM Family Backpacks and Art Tubes will be available daily during the winter break. All the Winter Break activities are included in the general admission price. Kids 18 and under are free! No reservations needed.

What: Kids under 18 receive FREE admission to the Denver Art Museum
When: Winter Break – December 19, 2009 through January 4, 2009
- Tuesday – Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm (Closed Mondays)
- Sundays Noon to 4:00pm
Family Friendly Activities:
- “Not a bag” Kids create imaginative sculptures from paper bags.
- Live stone sculpting demonstrations in the Houdon from the Louvre
- Create a Navajo weaving or Egyptian flower collar
- Play dress-up with Old English and Western costumes
- Family Backpacks and Art Tubes – DAM’s gallery-adventures-in-a-pack include art making activities that are both hands-on and educational.

The Denver Art Museum is located on 13th Avenue between Broadway and Bannock Streets in downtown Denver. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m.; closed Mondays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission for Colorado residents: $10 adults, $8 seniors and students. Admission for non-Colorado residents: $13 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $5 for visitors aged six to eighteen, free for children under 6. General Museum admission is free the first Saturday of each month, thanks to Target and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).
