When visiting downtown Westcliffe Colorado you’ll quickly notice the many adorable shops, and each one is worth the time to stop and browse what they have to offer. As you shop, you’ll discover how friendly the local residents are and maybe even walk away with a few great souvenirs.
The town of Westcliffe is adjacent to the historic mining town of Silver Cliff Colorado. Both sit at an elevation of approximately 8000 ft. They’re surrounded to the west by the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, the Wet Mountains can be viewed to the north, the Spanish Peaks to the south and the Collegiate Mountains to the east.
Traveling to Westcliffe Colorado is an enjoyable scenic drive. It’s only 3 hours from Denver, one and a half hours from Colorado Springs, a short forty-five minutes from Pueblo and Canon City via the scenic Hwy 50. Traveling Hwy 50, you’ll enjoy the relaxing view of the Arkansas River. If you choose to fly in, Custer County has a small airport located approximately 9 miles south along Hwy 69 in Westcliffe.

- Mission Wolf – Mission:Wolf is a peaceful wolf sanctuary located in the remote mountains of Colorado. Many people who visit the sanctuary are astounded by how far removed we are from civilization.
- San Isabel National Forest – The National Trust, in conjunction with Colorado Preservation, Inc. and the Forest Service, has for several summers organized a group of volunteers to assist in a hands-on preservation project at the Interlaken Resort in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest near Leadville, Colorado.
- Silver Cliff Museum – The Silver Cliff Museum is located in the historical Silver Cliff Town Hall and Fire House at 606 Main Street; and on the Frontier Pathways Scenic and Historic Byway on Colorado State Hwy 96. This building, constructed in 1879, still stands on its original site and was listed on the State Historic Register in 1997. The Silver Cliff Museum currently houses memorabilia and artifacts that depict the history of Silver Cliff Mining and history of the County.
- Historic Jones Theater – The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts was created in 1992 as a not-for-profit corporation to maintain the Historic Jones Theater both as a movie and theater house for the Westcliffe, Colorado Community. Thanks to generous foundation grants and the efforts of many volunteers the theater has been restored and refurbished to its original 30′s glamour.
