Wellington Colorado Attractions

Wellington Colorado is located north of Fort Collins  off Interstate-25 in Larimer County. It was founded in 1902, is known as the “Northern Gateway to Colorado” and has a spectacular view of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Roosevelt National Forest

Rocky Mountain National Park

Cache la Poudre River

Its headwaters are in the Front Range in Larimer County, in the northern part of Rocky Mountain National Park. The river descends eastward in the mountains through the Roosevelt National Forest in Poudre Canyon. It emerges from the foothills north of the city of Fort Collins. Pawnee National Grasslands

Visit in May and June to see the best of the breeding birds, wildflowers and many species of wildlife. Dawn and dusk are the best times to see the animals and there is no charge for the public use land other than camping in the designated campsites. Ornithologists and bird photographers travel from many places around the country to see what the Grasslands offer.

Larimer County History Museum / Wellington History Museum

Centennial Park

Centennial Park - 3815 Harrison in Wellington, offers two playgrounds, picnic shelter, picnic tables, skate park, and a basketball court

Library Park

Library Park – 3800 Wilson Avenue in Wellington has two fenced in ball fields, t-ball field, gazebo, picnic tables, and a nature area
