Wellington Colorado
Wellington is a town in northern Larimer County Colorado, founded in 1902. It was named for C.L. Wellington who worked for the Colorado and Southern Railroad. Historically, Wellington has been a rural community with a small population devoted to farming and ranching. This community is known as the “Northern Gateway to Colorado” and has a spectacular view of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Wellington sits about ten miles north of Fort Collins and has wildlife preserves to the east and south of the town. This community seems to offer its residents everything they need to enjoy small town living, while being close enough to the bigger cities to appreciate their conveniences. Fort Collins, Windsor and Loveland are all close by and offer shopping and entertainment options. There are two airports within 30 miles of Wellington, one in Cheyenne WY. and the one in Fort Collins-Loveland. Denver International Airport is about 60 miles or a little over an hour away.
The town of Wellington is also very near the Roosevelt National Forest, and many camping options along the Front Range, Big Thompson River, Cache la Poudre River and valley. There are considerable opportunities for wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, camping, off-road ATV activity, day trips and picnics in the general area. To the east is the Pawnee National Grassland, where birding is a huge draw for the area. Many migratory birds can be found in this Grassland, which is considered a photographers paradise. Nearby Jackson State Park and Reservoir offers boating, water skiing, and fishing.
