Morrison Colorado Attractions
There are many interesting places to visit in the Morrison area. If you love geology and history you’ll want to check out Dinosaur Ridge on the Dakota Hogback, where footprints and fossils are a few feet away. The Dinosaur Visitors Center will be glad to answer your questions. Red Rocks Amphitheater and the surrounding area including Red Rocks Trading Post is a wonderful drive and a famous location you’ll want to see for yourself. Just down the road is the entertaining Heritage Square – with an Alpine Slide, amusements, food and fun. Make plans to come visit the little town of Morrison!
Dinosaur Ridge and Visitor Center
Back during the time of the dinosaurs, the Morrison and Golden area looked quite different. Walk with 90-foot, long-necked giants across a floodplain lined with streams, ponds, and watering holes! Trace the ripple patterns left by Colorado’s ocean on Morrison’s sandy beaches. Muck through Golden’s swamp under the shade of palm trees with Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex at Triceratops Trail. With two locations to explore, you’re sure to have a fun day and a great adventure at Dinosaur Ridge! Red Rocks Amphitheater & Park
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located in Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado, 15 miles west of Denver, the site of one of the most beautiful and unique concert venues in the United States. Red Rocks has been famous around the world and the biggest names in the music business have played here. It’s also the venue for annual Easter Sunrise services, and many graduating classes from local high schools have had their commencement ceremonies here. The natural rock formations extend beyond the amphitheater and so a visit to the Park should include stopping at the Trading Post and Visitor Center. The Trading Post is also the perfect place to start a walking tour of the park. The structure, designed by W.R. Rosche, was constructed in 1931 and has a breathtaking view of the valley and rock formations to the south.
The Visitor Center is open May – September: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and October – April: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Free admission. The Trading Post is open daily 9:00 – 4:00 pm

Heritage Square
Heritage Square has been in the Morrison area for decades and is a favorite stop for tourists and locals alike. The Music Hall & Dinner Theatre presents many enjoyable shows, and is open daily. The Children’s Theatre is also a family favorite. Enjoy some go kart racing on our fantastic go kart racing tracks or maybe a round of miniature golf. Bring the family this weekend for some great clean, safe & affordable family fun! While the shops at Heritage Square are open year-round, their hours vary in Fall and Winter seasons. Bandimere Speedway
In 1958, John Bandimere Sr. purchased a parcel of land on the west side of Denver nestled up against the Hogback near Morrison. He and his family began constructing a small drag strip to augment their auto parts business. It also was the fulfillment of a dream of John Sr.’s to provide a safe environment for young people to learn about cars and race them off the streets. Now, Bandimere Speedway has grown nearly 10 times its original size to host a variety of specialty events, including the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals.
