Hotchkiss Colorado Attractions

Hotchkiss Colorado is between Paonia and Crawford and part of the Colorado’s North Fork Valley. In addition to the beautiful orchards and vineyards in the area, here are some of the other attractions you can enjoy on your next trip to Hotchkiss!

The Delta County Fairgrounds

This family oriented facility plays host to all types of commercial, business, youth and private events throughout the year. It is the site of the annual Delta County Fair held each August and home to most Delta County 4-H activities. The Delta County Fairgrounds (DCFG) is divided into seven areas for event purposes, including Heritage Hall, the Event Center, Fairgrounds Park, the Outdoor Arena and Grandstands, 2 Baseball Fields, Livestock Barn, and a Nature Park with a small camping site.

Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area and Wilderness

This BLM property encompasses about 17,784 acres of public land, including a fourteen-mile stretch of the Gunnison River extending from the northwestern boundary of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park north to a point approximately one mile downstream from the confluence of the Smith Fork and the main stem of the Gunnison. The Gunnison Gorge offers a technical (Class II-IV) and remote boating experience for rafters, kayakers, and whitewater canoeists, horseback riding, small and big game hunting, Gold Medal trout fishing, Day-use and camping facilities, motorized and non-motorized recreation, sightseeing, wildlife photography, and wilderness hiking and backpacking.

Blue Sage Center for the Arts

The facilities are the beautiful, historic Curtis Building and the Old Bank Building in the heart of downtown Paonia, Colorado. We provide a space that can be used for ongoing classes in movement, music, the arts, personal growth and other educational purposes. Creamery Arts Center

A favorite place to go in Hotchkiss, the Creamery Arts Center represents the work of 100 artist-members from the North Fork Valley, Delta county and other Western Slope communities. Hotchkiss-Crawford Historical Society Museum

Learn all about the history of the area through exhibits, photos, collections and artifacts including a chuck wagon await you. See what it was like to be a homesteader in the Gunnison River’s North Fork Valley in the late 1800′s. “The museum features permanent exhibits of Southwest Indian artifacts, historic photographs, a replica of a 1900-era general store, an old-time parlor, and a “Life on the Mesas” exhibit that includes maps, photos, literature and artifacts.
