James M. Robb State Park
Fruita is also the home of the 890 acre – James M. Robb State Park, which sits along the Colorado River. It was established in 1994, and has both campsites and swim beaches. People can enjoy a calm water trip between Connected Lakes and Fruita, but there are also some class II rapids along the way. This Colorado State Park is broken up into five unique river and lake recreation opportunities; Island Acres section, Corn Lake section, Colorado River Wildlife section, Connected Lakes section and the Fruita section. Each of these portions of the James M. Robb State Park provide an interesting and extraordinary look at the Colorado River! Beautiful scenery, numerous water recreation possibilities and excellent camping facilities make this a favorite Fruita Colorado attraction!

Dinosaur Journey Museum
The Dinosaur Museum in Fruita Colorado “tells the story of the history of life in western Colorado and surrounding areas with real fossils, cast skeletons and robotic reconstructions of dinosaurs”. This branch of the Museum of Western Colorado uses hands-on, interactive displays and a working laboratory to depict life in this area of Colorado in an earlier time, much earlier! Enjoy real bone exhibits of Apatosaurus, Stegosaurus and Allosaurus, exciting robotic displays of Dilophosaurus, Utahraptor, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus and full-size cast skeletal models of Velociraptor, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus and many others!
