Downtown Canon City is a must see! Many visitors sadly miss this historic downtown because of it’s location, one block north of highway 50, because they simply don’t know its there. Canon City’s downtown area is listed on the National Historical Register for its many turn of the century architectural buildings. One of which is the historic St. Cloud hotel, which has stood at the corner of 6th and Main since 1888, when it was moved brick by brick to Canon City from Silver Cliff. It is currently unoccupied but well worth the view. This building along with the rest of downtown will make you feel like you are visiting another era as you enjoy the local dining, music, art galleries, and boutiques.
