Allenspark Colorado Rocky Mountain Church stands in a beautiful valley near the Peak to Peak Scenic BywayAllenspark Colorado was established in 1918. This scenic little town is the gateway to some of Colorado’s most beautiful areas. Located on the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, Allenspark is approximately 17 miles northwest of Boulder Colorado and about 12 miles south of Estes Park Colorado. One aspect of this town that you’ll truly appreciate is their view of the famous Colorado fourteener, Long’s Peak. Majestic and dramatic, their view of Long’s Peak is like no other.

Rocky Mountain National Park, another Colorado gem is also in close by Allenspark. A short, scenic ride up Colorado Highway 7 will bring you to the parks main entrance. Of course, you’ll find plenty of other things to do when visiting this area, horseback riding, camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, 4-Wheel and ATV trails as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Allenspark is a fun and beautiful year round destination!

  • Longs Peak – One of Colorado’s proud 14er’s, Longs Peak towers over all the other astounding mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park. In summer, many gather to hike the Keyhole Route up the mountain. It’s the only non-technical path up the peak. This route is generally open to those with average hiking skills from mid-July to mid-September. Be prepared though, the eight mile trek has an elevation gain of 4,850 feet and weather conditions can change dramatically in just a short period of time. However, the views from the top make this hike a “don’t miss” for those physically able to make the climb!
  • Rocky Mountain National Park – Established in 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park is another of Colorado’s scenic wonders! A journey to Colorado without a visit to this park would make your trip incomplete. 150 lakes, 450 miles of sparkling mountain streams, lush plant life and a dense wildlife population are just a few of the hallmarks of Rocky Mountain National. Make sure your next Colorado outing includes a visit to this Colorado gem.
  • Peak to Peak Scenic Byway – This scenic drive covers 55 miles of incomparable views! Beginning an hour from Denver, this Colorado byway takes you through the beautiful Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. You’ll also find along the way; Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Rocky Mountain National Park and Eldora Ski Resort. Plus the side roads to this Colorado scenic byway  lead off to the ghost towns of Hesse and Apex, the east portal of the Moffat Tunnel, and a variety of hiking, camping and fishing opportunities. This is Colorado’s oldest scenic byway, it’s also one of our favorites!
