The Baby Doe campground is located alongside Turquoise Lake. Shaded by a Lodgepole pine forest, this high altitude campground can be found just outside Leadville Colorado in the Turquoise Lake Recreation Area. This is a very popular campground so reservations are recommended, especially for weekend visits. Fishing in Turquoise Lake is good and there are a number of fish species within the lake; Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat and Lake trout as well as Kokanee Salmon. Return visitors to the area enjoy the Baby Doe Campground because of its close proximity to Turquoise Lake and the great views from the campground.
There are a large selection of activities to choose from when staying at the Baby Doe Campground. Of course there are all the Turquoise Lake related activities; boating, fishing and other water sports, but there are a lot of other recreational choices too! Enjoy biking, hiking and backpacking on one of the many trails in the area. Wildlife is also abundant around the lake so plan on some time to enjoy some time viewing the local animal and bird species. Take a scenic drive, because this whole area is rich in Colorado history and make sure to set aside time to visit the town of Leadville. Some of the richest figures in western history got their start there!

Additional Information
- Make campsite reservations a minimum of 4 days prior to your arrival or up to 240 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on the weekends and a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. An additional vehicle fee will be collected on-site. First come first serve sites may also be available.
- Please use caution when approaching the campground, the entrance road is narrow and windy.
