Stillwater Campground is a large RV campground on the shore of Lake Granby in Arapaho National Forest just 8 miles away from Granby, Colorado. It sits off Hwy 34 and is easy to get to. There are many spaces which have a spectacular view of the lake. Many hazard trees have been cut due to the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation making the campsites much more open. Of the 129 sites, 88 are good RV sites and the remaining 41 are more suited to tenting. Everything in the way of RV comforts are available in Stillwater including showers, electricity, a dump station, an amphitheater and a boat ramp. The roads are paved and wide and there are 10 water hydrants and 8 restrooms of which 5 are handicapped accessible. The usual season for Stillwater is Memorial Day through Labor Day, depending on weather.
Activities in the area include fishing, water skiing and boating on Lake Granby, Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, and Willow Creek Reservoir. The drive into Grand Lake is short, and the town is full of interesting things to see and do. Going past Grand Lake on the highway will take you over Trail Ridge Road into Rocky Mountain National Park. Wildlife viewing is abundant in the area, and there is mountain biking and hiking on many trails close by.
