The Seedhouse Campground is located in Routt National Forest, near Mt. Zirkel Wilderness and close by Pearl Lake State Park. It is a high altitude campground sitting at 8,000 ft. in elevation, and has Lodgepole pine and subalpine fir trees. Nearby, the Middle fork of the Elk River can be heard. This campground has the distinction of being constructed by the CCC in 1935 and has an original vault toilet built during the depression era. There are 24 sites in the campground suitable for either RV or tenting. The usual season for this camp is mid-June through October 1st depending on the weather. There is water on site and non-handicapped accessible vault toilets.
Activities in the area include mountain biking and hiking in Mt. Zirkel Wilderness, and the connector trail to the 3,200 mile Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is here. Trails to look for include: Big Creek Bridge Trail, Beaver Creek, Roaring Fork Trail, Coulton Creek Trail, Pearl Lake, Hinman Creek Trail, Chilton Trail and more. If you enjoy whitewater, check out Encampment River, and Elk River. If you enjoy fishing for brook and rainbow trout, Elk River and Lester Creek Dam is close by. Steamboat Lake State Park and Pearl Lake State Park along with Hahn’s Peak Lake are also close. There is an abundance of wildlife and birds in the area, and remember this is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.

| Location: From Steamboat Springs, CO (west end), take County Rt. 129 north 17.9 miles to campground sign (County Rt. 64/Forest Rt. 400). Turn right onto Rts. 64/400 and go 8.9 miles to another campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground. |
