Ranger Lakes in Colorado's State Forest State ParkThis scenic area features many activities for the family. Hike on the nature trail that leads from the campground to the Ranger Lakes. This trail continues around the lakes if you decide to extend your walk. When we visited the campground in 2009, we encountered three Moose as we walked the nature trail. This area is a Moose habitat so be aware and always give the Moose plenty of respect if you come across one! The Gould Loop Trail can also be accessed from the campground and makes for and enjoyable hike. Fishing in Ranger Lakes is always an excellent diversion. You may have a difficult time concentrating on the fish though, the lake surroundings are beautiful and can cause your mind to drift! The fishing area includes a large pier for those with disabilities. On some weekend summer nights local Rangers present interpretive programs in the campgrounds amphitheater. Other activities include, bird watching, biking, horseback riding, photography, wildlife viewing, OHV riding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snow sledding.

Additional Services Available:

Vault toilets, water (bring a hose to access water), electricity connections, fire pits, picnic tables, 12 ft x 12 ft tent pads, natural shade, nature study exhibits, visitor center, amphitheater, dump station
