Horseshoe Campground is located in the Arapaho National Forest about 25 miles northeast of Silverthorne and 20 miles south of Parshall, CO at an elevation of 8,540 feet. The campground is next to the Williams Fork River and has spruce trees and Aspen trees around it. Of the seven sites in the campground, all are suitable for RV camping. The roads through the campground are dirt. There is one water hydrant and one non-handicapped accessible restroom. The season for this campground normally runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The activities in the area include fishing for trout in either Williams Fork River, nearby Keyser Creek or Williams Fork Reservoir closer to Parshall. Hiking is available on the nearby Williams Peak trail which is located about a half mile north of the campground on Forest Road 138. Scenic drives on Ute Pass, and Green Mountain Reservoir is close for a day trip, boating or fishing. Lake Evelyn Trail will take you on a high altitude hike, beginning as an old logging road which has been closed to motorized use. The road continues for approximately 1.5 miles before turning into a trail.  Above the lake, the trail is very steep and rocky as it climbs up onto the alpine ridge. Once on the ridge, access is provided to either the St. Louis Divide or Kinney Creek Trails.

Directions to Horseshoe Campground

Location: In the Williams Fork Valley, 20 miles south of Parshall (US Highway 40), off County Road 3, on FDR 139 – Take I-70 to Silverthorne. Travel north on SR 9 for approximately 12 miles to Forest Road 132. Turn right on 132 and go over Ute Pass to Forest Road 138 (about 9 miles). Turn left and travel about 3.2 miles to Forest Road 139. Turn right and the campground is immediately on the left.

    • Hello Kevin, thank you for posting your question! Horseshoe campground campsite fees are currently $12 per night. Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age and Golden Access passes provide the cardholders a 50% discount on campground fees. Horseshoe is a first come, first served campground. Reservations are not accepted. Hope this information is helpful..
