Dumont Lake Campground is located next to Dumont Lake about 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs, Co on US Highway 40 – Rabbit Ears Pass. It is part of the Routt National Forest, and sits at an elevation of 9,426. This high altitude campground has 22 sites of which 2 are primarily tent sites, and offers tables, fireplace grates and water during the camping season. Handicapped accessible vault toilets and dumpsters are available to the campers. The usual season for this campground is June 15 through October 1st.
Activities in the area include scenic drives on the Continental Divide which gives you views of many spectacular Colorado mountain ranges. The campground is across from a beautiful alpine meadow. Dumont Lake offers trout fishing, and boating, as well as hiking and mountain biking around the area. Wildlife watching, birding and wildflower enthusiasts will love this area. Our State Flower the Columbine blooms in the meadows. Please remember you are in bear country, so use extreme caution storing food.

| Location:Located 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs, CO on US HWY 40 (Rabbit Ears Pass). From Steamboat Springs take HWY 40 east 17.3 miles to campground sign (NFSR 315 paved) Turn left at sign onto NFSR 315 and then travel 1.2 miles to another campground sign. Turn left into campground. |
