Dry Lake Campground is located in the Routt National Forest near Steamboat Springs, Colorado on Buffalo Pass Road. It’s a small but popular campground with 8 sites which all have tables, firepits with grates, and access to vault toilets. The typical season for this campground is Memorial Day through mid-October depending on weather.
Activities in the area include hiking and biking on such trails as Spring Creek Trail, Luna Lake Trail, Fish Creek Falls Trail, Red Dirt Trail, Elk Park Trail and more. If you want to access the water, look for Rock Creek rapids, Snowstorm Lake, and the Elk River for whitewater. There is also tubing down the Yampa River in the summertime for those who want a somewhat slower ride. Steamboat provides many activities in the summertime including concerts, festivals and parades.
