Cold Springs Campground is located about 15 miles from Yampa, Colorado in the Routt National Forest. It’s a very popular and small high altitude campground with only 5 sites available. All have fire rings and tables, and there is water available as well as vault toilets. There is a small waterfall and a pond in the campground area. The usual season for this camp is Memorial Day through September 30th depending on weather. It’s first come, first served with a limit of 14 days per stay.
Activities in the area include great fishing and hiking. For trout fishing, try Stillwater Reservoir, Stagecoach State Park, Bear River, Trappers Lake or any of the many small lakes in the area. For hiking, look for the Stillwater and Smith Lake trailheads just past the campground. They access the Flat Tops Wilderness which is the 2nd largest wilderness area in Colorado. It takes in a quarter of a million acres in Routt and White River National Forests. There are abundant alpine views in the area, many beautiful mountain ranges close by and wildlife, so have your camera ready.

| Location: From Yampa, follow Cty Rd 7 Southwest for 6.5 miles, where it becomes National Forest System Road 900 (NFSR 900). Continue another 9.0 miles on NFSR 900 to the campground. |
