Byers Creek Campground is located about 7 miles southwest of Fraser on County Road 73 at an elevation of 9,360 feet in the Arapaho National Forest. The six site campground is surrounded by spruce trees and are near St. Louis and Byers Creek. The road is narrow near the campground, and so might be difficult to maneuver a large RV into a site. The roads through the campground are gravel. There is one water hydrant and one restroom which is not handicapped accessible. This campground normally opens from Memorial Day through Labor Day, depending on the weather.
Activities you may enjoy in the area: Fishing for trout is available in St Louis Creek. It’s a 3 mile hike from the end of the road to St Louis Lake for lake fishing. Lake Granby is close by and makes a great day trip. Hiking or mountain biking is available on the nearby jeep roads and in the Byers Peak Wilderness. Winter Park is nearby and offers many interesting activities, including the WP Village experience with entertainment and games. Ride the Gondola up the mountain or try the Alpine Slide. The town of Fraser has shops, stores and restaurants.
