The Bockman campground is one mile north of the North Michigan Reservoir and campgrounds in Colorado’s State Forest State Park. Nestled in the Roosevelt National Forest, this campground has 52 total campsites, 13 are pull-through sites and one is a group site (34) that is designed to accommodate up to 6 tents. Bockman campground also features a horse corral for those of you camping with your horses. This campground can handle all sizes of RV’s because the sites are large, the smallest being a 48 ft back-in site and the largest, a 114 ft pull through.

There are many activities in the Bockman campground area. There is fishing and boating related activities at North Michigan Reservoir and Ranger Lakes. Both of these Colorado water resources are very close to the Bockman campground. Both lakes are stocked regularly and are a great place for family canoeing, kayaking and boating since both North Michigan and Ranger Lakes are restricted to wakeless speeds. North Michigan has two boat ramps and Ranger Lakes features a large pier that makes fishing for those with disabilities much easier! There are many other activities in the area too. The Gould Loop Trail is close by is an enjoyable hike. On some weekend summer nights local Rangers present interpretive programs in the Ranger Lakes campground amphitheater that is very close by. Fishing and hiking around Ranger lakes is also an option. Other activities include, bird watching, biking, horseback riding, photography, wildlife viewing, OHV riding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snow sledding.

Directions to Bockman State Park Campground

Location: From the Ft Collins area, travel west on CO-14 (Poudre Canyon Hghway) for approximately 70 miles to County Road 41, turn right on County Road 41 and travel about 3 miles to County Road 41B. Proceed on County Road 41B to the Bockman Campground. From the Walden area, travel east on CO-14 about 19 miles, Turn left on County Road 41 and about 3 miles to County Road 41B. Proceed on County Road 41B to the Bockman Campground.

Additional Information

  • Reservations are recommended for any weekend stays including Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays and stays longer than 2 nights. Some first-come, first-serve sites may be available.
  • There is a 14 day maximum stay allowed per park during any 45 day period and only 6 people are allowed per campsite. Allowable combinations are: One passenger vehicle and two tents; or one motorized vehicle towing a camping trailer and one tent (if space allows). If space permits, one additional passenger vehicle and/or motorcycle may be parked at a campsite.
  • A vehicle pass is required for all vehicles entering a State Park.  Vehicle fees are separate from camping fees.  If a motorized, towed vehicle is being brought into a park, a pass is required for that vehicle.
  • Pets must be kept on a six foot leash and be under control at all times. Please remember to pick up after your pets, failure to do so may result in a fine.
  • Please review the bulletin board or consult the campground host for specific rules, regulations and restrictions in this campground
  • NOTE: Do not bring firewood from another State, firewood can spread harmful insect pests and diseases. Help protect Colorado’s public lands by acquiring local firewood at or near the campground where you’re staying. Contact the Colorado Department of Agriculture immediately for instructions on how to dispose of any firewood brought in from another state.
