The Arapaho Bay Campground is located on Lake Granby in the Sulphur Ranger District portion of the Arapaho National Forest. This Colorado campground is generally open with full services from mid-May through Labor Day. After Labor Day, camping is available on a first-come, first-serve basis with reduced services while weather permits. Campsites 1-7 (Big Rock Loop) are available year round. Campsites are more open because of tree removal due to the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation. For pre-season camping prior to Memorial Day: There are no restroom facilities available this time of year. People must be prepared for temperatures that drop into the single digits or below zero at night. When the sites become blocked with snow, they will not be plowed open and will no longer be unavailable. Arapaho Bay Campground has three loops: Big Rock, Moraine and Roaring Fork.
Activities in the area include fishing, boating, sailing, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and site seeing. There are four other lakes in the local area, Willow Creek Reservoir, Meadow Creek Reservoir, Shadow Mountain Reservoir and Grand Lake. The close proximity between these lakes makes this area of Colorado a favored destination for anyone that enjoys relaxing on and around the water! The west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just a few miles up the road too! The Kawuneeche Valley, Never Summer Range and Trail Ridge Road are all must see attractions in the western half of Rocky Mountain National!
Additional Services Available:
vault toilets, fire grates, picnic tables, drinking water, tent pads, boat ramp and double sites
