West Lake Campground is located in the Roosevelt National Forest near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. It sits at an elevation of 8,226 ft. in a group of Ponderosa pine trees and sagebrush on the south shore of West Lake. Of the 35 sites in the campground, all are suited to RV’s and tents. Electricity is available for the majority of sites, there are 3 water hydrants and 3 restrooms – one of which is handicapped accessible. The road through the camp is gravel, and the views surrounding the campground are beautiful. The usual season for this campground is Memorial Day through Labor Day depending on the weather.
Activities in the area include a day use picnic ground by the campground, non-motorized boating, trout fishing in the surrounding lakes; West Lake, Dowdy, Parvin, Red Feather area. If you enjoy hiking or mountain biking, look for West Lake Trail, Mount Margaret Trail and Molly Lake trails. Wildlife viewing and scenic drives are all around the area. Watch for Moose and remember this is bear country, so be extremely cautious with food storage.

| Location: Drive 21 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287 to Laporte. Continue on 287 north to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74E (Red Feather Lakes Road) for 22 miles to the campground. The campground is on the right side of the highway. |
