Tunnel Campground is located in the Roosevelt National Forest along County Road 103 (Laramie River Road). It sits at 8,600 ft. and is surrounded by Lodgepole pine and aspen trees. Of the 49 sites in the campground, all are suited to RV’s or tents. The roads through the camp are dirt, there is one water hydrant and 4 restrooms available. The season for this campground is usually Memorial Day to end of October depending on the weather. The Laramie river is near the campground and Moose often are seen in the area. This is also bear country, so use extreme caution when storing food.
Activities in the area include trout fishing in both the Laramie river and the Rawah Wilderness, Long Draw Reservoir or Emerald Lake, Half Mile Creek or Joe Wright Creek. Whitewater paddling on Joe Wright Creek is popular and hiking on Lower Nunn Creek Trail, West Branch Trailhead, the Medicine Bow Mountains and the Rawah Wilderness. Horseback riding, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and scenic drives are also available throughout the area.

| Location: Drive 10 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287. Turn left onto Highway 14. Drive approximately 50 miles west on Highway 14 (Poudre Canyon Hwy), and turn right onto County Road 103 (Laramie River Road). It is approximately seven miles to the campground entrance, which is on the left side of the road. |
