It’s a high altitude campground at an elevation of 9,000 ft. and is situated in spruce, Lodgepole pine and aspen trees. There are 12 sites in the campground mostly suited to tenting, or small campers. The roads in the camp are dirt, there is no water available and only one non-handicapped accessible restroom. The season for this campground is usually Memorial Day through Labor Day depending on the weather.
Activities in the area include trout fishing in the South Fork of Cache La Poudre River, Fish Creek and Beaver Creek, mountain biking and 4-wheel driving on the many jeep trails around. If you enjoy hiking, there is Comanche Peak Wilderness, Rocky Mountain National Park areas, Emmaline Lake, Stormy Peaks Trail, Mummy Pass, Lost Lake Trail, Hourglass Trail, Signal Mountain Trail, Lory State Park and more. Whitewater rafting is popular on the Cache La Poudre, and South Fork area, and more tame rafting in Beaver Creek.
