Guanella Pass Campground is located south of Georgetown in Clear Creek County in the Arapaho National Forest. It’s a high altitude campground split into two loops on either side of the County Road 381. Of the total 18 sites, 11 are more suited to RV and 7 to tent camping. There are spruce trees around the area, but sunshine is available for most sites, which helps keep things warmer at high altitude. The roads are gravel through the campground, and in each loop there is one water hydrant and one restroom which is handicapped accessible. You may plan to visit this campground from early June through mid-September, and 60% of the sites are reservable.
Activities you may enjoy include fishing for trout in South Clear Creek, Silver Dollar Lake and Murray Lake, hiking on the Silver Dollar Lake trail, scenic driving up Guanella Pass and down to the town of Grant. Picnics and day trips into the area, horseback riding, mountain biking and wildlife viewing as well as visiting historic Georgetown just 7 miles away. If you enjoy trains, the famous Georgetown Loop railroad is available for rides and Silver Plume is the other end of the line before returning to Georgetown. The route to campground, although paved for the first 5.5 miles, is rough, steep and winding and may be challenging for a long RV. The campground is convenient to the Mt. Evans Wilderness and Pike National Forest. Take a two-mile drive to the 11,669-foot Guanella Pass to enjoy the great scenery and trails. One of them goes to Mt. Bierstadt and on to Mt. Evans. Please remember this is bear country; use caution when storing food.

We really loved this campsite. Great sites, well maintained, and beautiful views. Creeks run along the campsites, and the Silver Dollar Trail and Bierstadt trail are amazing hikes. I rode my bike down Guanella Pass for a great ride. We even were treated to a moose meandering through our campsite!
