The Dowdy Lakes campground is located in the Roosevelt National Forest, near Red Feather Lakes. Of the 62 available sites,14 are suitable for tents only. The remainder are ready for RV’s of all sizes. Some sites are deep enough for the big rigs since they’re 103′ feet deep. On average, the sites in this campground are 48′ deep. There are sites that have electrical service available for an additional charge. Oversized double sites that accommodate more people are also available for an additional daily charge. Campsite fee includes use of the day-use area. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the campground and the lake are the rock formations. Large and small the formations are breathtaking and provide a unique backdrop that you can really get lost in!
The activities surrounding Dowdy Lake are the main focus of the campground. Fishing and boating activities are abundant. Motorized and non-motorized boats may use the lake, however the lake allows wakeless speeds only. Other options include hiking and exploring the Rawah Comanche Peak Wilderness areas. Enjoy hiking, biking, 4-wheeling, OHV, horseback riding, scenic drives and wildlife viewing. When staying at this Roosevelt National Forest campground, you can be sure you won’t run short of things to see and do!

| Location: Drive 21 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287. Turn left onto the Red Feather Lakes Road (County Road 74E) and travel approximately 22 miles. Turn right and travel another mile to signed campground entrance on the right. |
