Camp Dick rests in a glacial valley near Middle St. Vrain Creek. It’s one mile west of Peaceful Valley Campground and sits at 8,650 feet in elevation in the Roosevelt National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park in Boulder County. It’s in a beautiful large and open meadow and has 28 sites suitable for RV and the remaining 13 more suited to tent camping. There are some oversized sites available for large parties of up to 12. All roads through the campground are paved, there are four water hydrants and three restrooms, one of which is handicapped accessible. Camping season is mid-May to late October.
Camp Dick used to be the site of a Civilian Conservation Corp camp in the 1930′s and is nearby the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. You can enjoy hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, mountain biking, 4 wheel drive roads, ATV rides, and fishing or tubing the nearby St. Vrain Creek and the St. Vrain Canyon. Another popular adventure is rock climbing in the Peaceful Valley area. The nearby town of Lyons has activities throughout the year. Stores, entertainment, restaurants, live music and more are available.
Additional Services Available:
Picnic tables, fire rings or grills, water, vault toilets and trash services are provided. There are no electrical hook-ups, dump stations or showers.

| Location:Camp Dick is located one mile west of Colorado State Highway 72, at mile-marker 50. It is approximately 19 miles north of Nederland and 20 miles south of Estes Park. It can also be accessed via Colorado State Highway 66 west to Lyons, then southwest on Colorado State Highway 7 for approximately 12 miles to Highway 72, then south on Highway 72 approximately four miles. |
