Buena Vista Heritage Museum Free Day
The Buena Vista Heritage Museum will be open free of charge on July 4, 2011 This building, which once was the Buena Vista County Courthouse, contains many artifacts from the early days of Buena Vista. It also houses the miniature railroad society’s diorama of the railroad between Salida and Leadville Colorado in its early days. Other Buena Vista Heritage projects include; the Turner Farm and the St. Elmo Schoolhouse, as well as the rebuilding of the St. Elmo Town Hall and Jail and the ongoing restoration of the Buena Vista Depot.
