Celebrate Outdoor Heritage Day

Outdoor Heritage Days image by fs.usda.govKids, Parents, Grandparents and Friends!  This is your chance to get a taste of the great outdoors! Join Smokey Bear, the Forest Service and many other agency and outdoor groups for a day filled with fun outdoor activities, including fishing clinics, archery contests, orienteering, GPS scavenger hunts, rock climbing, shooting, nature hikes, a hunting simulator and much more.  Booths will be set up with representatives from land management agencies and non-profit organizations to answer questions and provide all the information you will need to start planning your summer outings! Lunch is provided, and best of all this event is completely free!

This great National Parks Outdoor Heritage Day will take place in two locations on two different days:

In the Grand Valley:

Start: 9:00 am on April 30, 2011 Venue: Riverbend Park
End: 4:00 pm on April 30, 2011 Address: Palisade, CO 81526
Cost: FREE DAY for all Activities packet available at the Grand Valley Ranger District or at the Outdoor Heritage Day Forest Service booth.

On the Western Slope:

Start: 9:00 am on June 7, 2011 Venue: Confluence Park
End: 4:00 pm on June 7, 2011 Address:530 Gunnison River Drive, Delta, Colorado
Cost: FREE DAY for all
