Be in Grand Lake Colorado September 3-5, 2010 for Funkfest 2010. With the assistance of many individuals and businesses, Funkfest 2010 aims to raise $20,000.00 for the East Grand County School District. When the State of Colorado Department of Education announced that there would be major cutbacks in public education funding, the East Grand County School District knew that would translate into serious funding issues for them. The State cutbacks would inhibit the Grand County School District from acquiring necessary funds in November, potentially closing the whole school district from November to January!

Funkfest 2010 hopes to ensure that no child gets left behind in East Grand County by raising fund to help compensate for the funding shortfall. The event is sponsored by the Center 4 Excellence and other local organizations. Grand Mountain Bank and Mountain Parks Electric as well as other businesses and individuals have made contributions but a successful Funkfest 2010 event will assure the funds necessary to keep schools in the district moving forward!

Participating artists include; Bobby Walker & Co., The Planet O Band, Ms. Jessica Love Jones, Sunday Morning Gospel Hour, Poet Laureate Antonio Edwards, Local Youth Funk Ensemble, WP Poet Nectaflow, Brad Pregeant, My Friend Tom, DJ Normski & Da Crew, “Mad Hands” Miguel & The Thunder Thumbs Drum Circle.

One ticket gets you admission to all three days of music, workshops and other associated events! Advance ticket prices: $20 adults, $15 Youth. Event weekend prices: $25 Adults, $20 Youth. Some of the workshops, events and night time entertainment have limited seating, so get your tickets early!
