Save the date – the 2010 Gunnison River Festival will be held from June 25th – 27th. We’ll be hosting the Festival the weekend after FIBARK (which stands for First in Boating on the Arkansas River) once again. Expect great flows, great weather, and great fun! Visit the Gunnison website for more information. The Gunnison River Festival is helping create a master plan for the Gunnison  Whitewater Park. The mission of the Gunnison River Festival is to promote awareness and celebration of local rivers as a priceless resource through river-themed recreation, arts, and education.

River Festival Goals:

• To promote diversity of recreational activities available either on or near rivers
• To encourage the use of the County’s Whitewater Park for both residents and visitors
• To stimulate the local economy by attracting multiple demographic groups by offering a variety of events and activities
• To educate the public on the diversity of uses of rivers in the Upper Gunnison
• To highlight local efforts to protect and enhance rivers and other aquatic environments
