Colorado History Museum Sale
If you would like a piece of the past to enjoy here in the present, you can stop by the Colorado History Museum tomorrow – Saturday, March 6, 2010 and purchase some pretty interesting pieces of history. The sale begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Colorado History Museum and will last until 4 p.m. Due to the March 28th move of the museum from it’s current location at 1300 Broadway to a new location only a block away, the exhibits are being either inventoried and put into storage or sold at the benefit sale.
The Colorado Historical Society will offer items for sale which include:
- large format reprints of William H. Jackson photographs
- a 10-foot tall cutout of the D&F Tower
- life size cutouts of historical figures
- mounted reproductions of artist Allen Tupper True’s state capitol mural studies
- 11×14 photographic reprints of a broad range of historic subjects, including trains, American Indians, Colorado locations and famous historical figures.
All items sold will benefit History Colorado educational and museum programs. The new museum will be located at 12th Avenue between Broadway and Lincoln. Construction is scheduled to begin next spring and should be complete in the summer of 2011.
