BCO Sounds of the Countryside heard in Broomfield
The Boulder Chamber Orchestra was established in 2004, and has since stood as Boulder’s premier chamber orchestra, featuring some of the area’s most talented musicians performing for sold out audiences. The Music Director and Conductor Bahman Saless explains the concert schedule for the 2010 season as “celebrating the impact of folk music on the history of classical music: Every concert will feature pieces that originated from folk tunes of various types. In April, we reprise the old and the new with works by Mozart and Prokofiev as well as one by a lesser-known composer, Bahman Saless; and concludes in May with a concert devoted to a composer who, again and again, has saved the human spirit in hard times: Ludwig van Beethoven.”
“In the New Year we join forces with Boulder’s own Jerome Fleg, who performs a rarely heard gem, the Concerto for Clarinet and Strings by Finzi, and follow up with two star-studded concerts, one featuring a thrilling performance by Lindsay Deutch on violin and the other presenting three of Boulder’s finest musicians in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto: Annamaria Karacson, Charles Lee, and Larry Graham. We end the season with a happy bang: Beethoven’s Eighth!”
The “Sounds of the Countryside” concert on February 27, 2010 will be held in the Broomfield Auditorium featuring performing artist Jerome Fleg, clarinet. Tickets can be purchased online, either individual tickets to any concert, or a season pass to have access to all concerts plus bonus gifts for the season.
