Colorado Freeride Championships
The Colorado Freeride Series & Championship (CFC) is a three-day big mountain competition on February 26 – 28, 2010, featuring both men and women skiers and snowboarders. Some of the biggest names in the industry come out to play on the cliff-littered terrain of Snowmass, creating a wild show for spectators. The expert-only terrain requires cutting-edge skills from the over 100 participating athletes who continue to push the boundaries of their sport. Spectators can watch the qualifying day of action from the base of the Hanging Valley Headwall (expert terrain) and catch the finals on the Burnside Cliffs from the deck of Gwyn’s High Alpine. The ski division of this event sells out every year! Registration will open January 13th.
Competitors last year included Frank Shine, Brandon Clabaugh, Jesse Wright and Jennifer Allen. Past champions include local skiers Kiffor Berg and Ted Davenport as well as two-time U.S. National Freeskiing Champion, Rex Wehrman.
